Following the Fiber Art Options exhibition: Orchids: Sensuality Stitched, at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, I have been invited for a solo show this fall to coincide with their fall programming and art exhibitions. This exhibition will feature my series: Seed Play and will include a number of new works.

I am very excited that my small piece: Ankle Twister II was selected for a permanent collection of contemporary art quilts in the International Quilt Study Center.

Louise Barden interviewed me for the Charlotte Realtors online magazine, Realtor Reflections, for the January 2010 issue. The article, which you can read here, contains the interview and photos of several pieces of my work. Louise was delightful to work with and did a great job with the article. Loved her title: "All Stitched Up: Nature, art, traditional quilting meet in Nancy G. Cook's realistic, metaphorical fiber works."

Last October I joined SAQA's Visioning Project. So far 150 members have joined, set a goal for the year, made a plan for accomplishing the goal, and report in regularly on the accomplishments and key steps along the way. Several times I have had specific art business questions that I was able to get help from another more experienced member. The resulting online mentoring is great.
